On 28 December 2011, DCI submitted five cases to the UN involving the use of solitary confinement on children held in Israeli detention facilities. This follows a recent report by the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture calling for a complete ban on the use of solitary confinement on children due to the potential for severe psychological and physical damage. The children report being held in solitary confinement for between three and 24 days.

The submission is available on line.
