[3 May 2011] – On 23 April 2011, the National Union of Teachers (NUT), Britain’s largest teachers’ union with over 250,000 members, passed a motion at its annual conference in support of Palestinian child and women prisoners.

The motion condemns the mistreatment of children in Israeli detention and calls on the union’s Executive to ‘incorporate this cause into the international work of the union at every opportunity.’
