Defense for Children International - Palestine is seeking a talented and savvy freelance videographer with exceptional editing and production skills, a strong understanding of the region, and a demonstrated interest in children’s rights.
The selected individual will lead the full video production cycle—from research and filming to publication—of child-rights focused video news clips (ranging from two minutes to under one minute in length), in close coordination with DCIP’s documentation and advocacy teams.
The assignments cover the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Videographers based in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are encouraged to apply. DCIP offers competitive local rates.
–Film, research and produce, from start to finish, video news clips, ranging in length from two minutes to under one minute, that combine original interviews and archival footage, tightly focused on children’s human rights topics.
–Conduct interviews with children and other relevant parties.
–Develop text and audio accompaniments to video, including translating Arabic interviews into English and preparing subtitles.
–Ensure accuracy and proper documentation process is met, according to DCIP standards.
–Maintain consistent style and messaging across all text.
–Contribute strategy and content to DCIP’s social media platforms.
–Bachelor’s degree in film or journalism. Master’s degree a plus.
–Proficiency in English and Arabic strongly preferred. Hebrew a plus.
–Minimum of 3-5 years professional work experience in film, journalism or video editing / production.
–Strong interpersonal skills when working with children and families during culturally sensitive or crisis scenarios.
–Ability to work under pressure, stress and hard deadlines.
–Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
