Impact

  • We have documented 1,944 Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces and settlers since 2000, and 21 cases of Palestinian children used as human shields by Israeli forces since 2004.
  • We represent an average of 150 cases in Israeli military courts and 90 in Palestinian courts per year.
  • We have successfully influenced Palestinian legislation as the only civil society organization in the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
  • In response to our advocacy campaigns, Israel introduced a requirement for Palestinian parents to be notified of their child’s arrest, and we work to ensure these protections are implemented.
  • We have established a strong record for capacity building among individuals and organizations working with children, especially in law enforcement and community-based organizations.
  • We are a founding member of the Palestine Network for Children’s Rights (PNRC), a coalition of 60 community-based organizations, all committed to working together to implement positive change for Palestinian children.
  • UN agencies and human rights mechanisms frequently rely on our reports to highlight human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, calling on Israel to amend policies.
  • We are assisting DCI’s International Secretariat with the launch of new national sections in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia, and Yemen.
